CAREER PLANNING WITH PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE
The school arranged a two day career Counselling Workshop on 13 & 14 May, 2026 to help students of classes-IX, X & XI make academic and career decisions in an evolving global landscape. It was conducted by Mr. Abhinav B Gogoi, India’s eminent Career Consultant & Global Education Specialist. A special session was also conducted for parents to help them understand the changing career landscape and diverse pathways available to students in the modern era.
CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME
On 16 May, 2026 the school hosted a Capacity Building Programme , a teachers’ training workshop on the topic ‘Learning Outcome & Pedagogies’. It was an initiative by the CBSE, CoE , Guwahati region. The Resource persons were Ms.Rista Daimary(PGT Biology) & Ms.Ratna Moni Brahma (PGT Economics), both from Don Bosco School, Kokrajhar. The session focused on understanding competency learning, aligning teaching strategies with learning outcomes and adopting innovative pedagogical approaches to make learning engaging.
A HEARTFELT MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION
The tiny tots of Bal Vatika immersed themselves in a delightful celebration dedicated to expressing their love and gratitude for their mothers on 15 May,2026. The school resonated with joy as the children danced , sang and merrily participated in various activities along with their mothers. Children presented handmade cards to their mothers with lots of love. The Principal shared insightful words, praising mothers for their sacrifices. The event concluded with refreshment for all mothers. Indeed, the celebration was a feast to the eyes.
CELEBRATING DIVERSITY THROUGH ASSEMBLIES
India is a land of rich cultural diversity and vibrant traditions, each unique in its essence, weaving the threads of unity that bind the nation together. At the school, we bring such celebrations alive on the assembly dais through various presentations. Students paid a heartfelt tribute to Rabindranath Tagore on his birth anniversary through soulful recitation and a captivating dance. The spirit of Assam was showcased through the celebration of Bohagi Bidai featuring a vibrant blend of Bihu & Baiswagu. The value of harmony and compassion was observed through a skit presentation on the eve of Id-ul-Zuha. Through such presentations, we intend to nurture socially aware and culturally rooted patriotic citizens.
FIRST PTA MEETING OF THE SESSION
The first PTA session was held on 20 May,2026 , attended by 42 members . A fruitful and constructive discussion took place in the said meeting. The Principal thoughtfully reviewed and addressed the various views, suggestions and concerns raised by parents during the meeting, offering valuable insights with apt observations.
INTERACTIVE GUEST SESSION- FEMININE HYGIENE
To promote awareness about menstrual health and hygiene among students, an interactive session was conducted for the girl students of classes-VI to IX on 29 May,2026 by our esteemed guest speaker, Dr. Chandita Borah, MBBS,MD (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), Chilarai Hospital & Research Centre, Bongaigaon. The programme for girl students aimed to dispel myths and misconceptions about menstruation highlighting reproductive health, importance of personal hygiene adopting healthy lifestyle habits and seeking timely medical advice. For the senior classes, basic concepts related to reproductive health and sex education were discussed in a sensitive and informative manner. The girls actively participated in the programme and the session proved to be informative and beneficial for the participants.
LEADERS IN THE MAKING-STUDENT COUNCIL INTERVIEWS
The Student Council serves as an important platform that nurtures leadership, responsibility, teamwork and effective communication among the students. So, every year, the council members are selected to encourage leadership . Interviews were conducted for membership in the Student Council on May 22,2026. The interviews were conducted at three levels- Sub-Juniors, Juniors & Seniors. The results of the same will be declared shortly.
THE MAIDEN EDITION OF DPSDHMUN
The first ever DPSDHMUN on 30 May,2026 was inaugurated by Shri Nayan Kumar Barua, Executive Director & Refinery Head, IOCL Bongaigaon Refinery and Pro-Vice Chairman of the School Board of Management. The conference witnessed enthusiastic participation from various schools from Bongaigaon, Chirang and Kokrajhar districts. The participants put up thought provoking discussions, debates, and negotiations on pressing global issues presenting their views with confidence and conviction. Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries present on the occasion emphasized on the importance of Model United Nations in nurturing leadership qualities and life skills among students. The inaugural edition of DPSDH MUN 2026 was a grand success reflecting the commitment of the school towards holistic education and preparing students for become global citizens.
ONLINE TRAINING SESSIONS ON JOLLY PHONICS & JOLLY GRAMMAR
In continuation to the online session on Jolly Phonics, 5 Essential Skills & Practical Classroom Strategies on 27 April, 2026, a session on Recap and Assessment Quiz & Letter Sound Group 1 was conducted on 11 May,2026 by the Delhi Public School Society, Human Resource Development Centre for Class Nursery-II. The same was attended by Ms. K.Bhattacherjee, PRT English.

TEACHER’S TRAINING ON EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION
Ms.Rupa Deb(PRT Science) represented the school at the HRDC Campus in Greater Noida for a four day workshop on Early Childhood Care & Education from May 20-23,2026. The programme focused on early childhood care, modern teaching pedagogies, innovative classroom practices as part of National Curriculum Framework for foundational stage and activity based teaching for Nursery-II.
