TOGETHER FOR A GREENER WORLD- WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION 2026
On June 05, 2026, the school observed the World Environment Day with great enthusiasm and a deep commitment to environmental conservation. The celebration featured a plantation drive with a variety of engaging activities including competitions. Such programmes encouraged students to express their creativity while spreading awareness about the importance of protecting and preserving environment.
INVESTITURE CEREMONY
One of the most significant events of the school, the Investiture Ceremony was held on June 13, 2026 at the school auditorium to formally induct the newly selected Student Council of the Sub-Junior, Junior & Senior categories. The ceremony was graced by Mr.N.K.Barua, Executive Director & Refinery Head, IOCL BGR and Pro-Vice Chairman of the School Board of Management. The Principal, Dr. R.K.Mishra congratulated the Council and urged them to lead with integrity, responsibility and dedication. The student leaders took the oath of office, marking the beginning of their leadership journey.
VOICES OF DEMOCRACY
On June 18, the school successfully conducted the Students’ Parliament 2026 for classes VI-VIII. The event provided a vibrant platform for students to debate on contemporary issues, fostering critical thinking, confident communication and a strong sense of civic responsibility.
SCIENCE FAIR 2026
The Science Fair for classes-VI VIII , held on June 18,2026 showcased students’ creativity , scientific knowledge and innovative thinking through an impressive display of working and static models on themes like renewable energy, robotics, environmental conservation and everyday Science. The fair proved to be an enriching experience , inspiring young minds to explore the wonders of Science and innovation.
The school organised a Guest Speaker’s Progrrame on June 19,2026 at the auditorium, Rangmanch. Dr. Raktim Bora, MBBS (AMCH), DCH(GMCH)FIP Neonates and Child Specialist had an interactive session with students of classes-VI to XI on the topic- The Need of Acute & Urgent Care. Through real life examples and practical insights, Dr.Bora highlighted the importance of recognizing timely first aid and seeking medical attention when required.
NCC CATC CAMP
The NCC Combined Annual Training Camp9CATC) was held at Girijananda Chowdhury University, Guwahati in three phrases- June 05-15, 15-24 & July 02-11,2026. The NCC cadets accompanied by the teacher I/c, Mr. Jushisthir Das participated in the ten day camp which helped them develop discipline, leadership, teamwork and self-confidence. The cadets took part in drills, parades, physical trainings, yoga, firing, personality development and first aid training. Our students performed excellently in competitions like Quizzes, Group Discussions, Debates, lectures, etc.
SUMMER CAMP-ADHIGAM 2026
The Summer Camp-Adhigam 2026 was held at the school premises from June 21-26, offering students a fun filled week of learning beyond the classroom. The opening ceremony was graced by Shri N.K.Barua, Executive Director & Refiinery Head, IOCL BGR & Pro-Vice Chairman of the school Board of Management. The camp featured a wide range of activities, including Art, Music , Dance, Cooking, Baking, Modeling, Photography & Videography , Make-up, Bamboo Crafting, Scouting & Guiding, Public Speaking & Leadership Development and Health & Wellness. Some well known resource persons trained the students with great care. The screening of the film –Taare Zameen Paar marked a perfect ending to all the activities. The valedictory ceremony was held on June 26,2026 with a vibrant programme wherein participants showcased their talents and were awarded certificates, making the camp a memorable and enriching experience for all.
BISHNU RABHA DIWAS
The school observed Bishnu Rabha Diyas on June 20 ,2026 in the morning assembly to commemorate the death anniversary of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha.The Principal, teachers and students paid floral tributes, followed by a speech highlighting his remarkable life and contributions to Assamese art & culture. The programme concluded with a group dance performance in the tune of a Rabha Sangeet ,inspiring students to appreciate the rich cultural heritage of Assam.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
A three-day Residential Professional Development Programme for English teachers (classes-VI-VIII) was held at the Delhi Public School Society, Human Resource Development Centre(HRDC) New Delhi from June 11-13 , 2026. The programme focused on effective reading and writing instruction , learner-centred assessment and inclusive classroom practices. Ms. Priyanka Das from the Deptt. of English attended the said programme. All in all, the workshop was an enriching experience , contributing to the growth of educators and the improvement of classroom practices.
WORKSHOP ON MATHEMATICS

A three-day Residential Workshop on Mathematics was organized by the DPSS,HRDC , Greater Noida from June 01-03,2026.Mr.Sanjoy Deb Nath(PGT Maths) attended the workshop. The sessions highlighted the use of AI tools in Maths teaching. Valuable insights on the greater participation of women in Maths. The other session emphasized understanding formulas, conceptual understanding of Maths and significance of assessments like SAFAL and PARAKH .Altogether, the experience was inspiring and professionally enriching.
YOGA FOR HEALTHY AGEING
The school celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga on 21 st June 2026, embracing the global theme, "Yoga for Healthy Ageing." Students and teachers enthusiastically participated in a common yoga session, promoting the values of health, mindfulness, and holistic well-being
TEACHERS’ TRAINING WORKSHOP

The DPS Society ,New Delhi organized an in-person onsite teachers’ workshop for teachers of classes- X & XII from June 20-22 ,2026. Mr. P.C.Medhi(Maths), Mr. S.Debnath(Maths), Ms.M.Sutradhar(Maths), Mr.R.J.Sarma(Maths), Mr. H.Das(Physics), Mr.M.Das(Physics), Ms.R.Dey(Bio), Mr.D.Sil(Bio), Mr. U.N.Ghosh(Chem.), Ms.A.D.Choudhury(Chem.), Mr.C.K.Pandey(Eco.), & Mr.T.Bhattacharjee(Accounts) attended the said workshop.
