SCIENCE MODEL COMPETITION(CBSE) AT NATIONAL LEVEL.
Out of 12 models from regional levels, the model of Miss Priyankee Ranjan Kasyap(IX)- The Future of Agriculture is in Smart Farming on the theme of ‘Emerging Technologies’ got selected for National Level CBSE Science Exhibition held at DPS Mathura Road, New Delhi from Jan.15-17,2026 .The model was well acclaimed.
ODE TO GODDESS OF LEARNING
The school celebrated Saraswati puja in its usual gaiety on Jan 23, 2026 at its premises. The puja pavilion was decorated with a well adorned idol of Goddess Saraswati, the epitome of knowledge and wisdom. Shri N.K.Barua, Executive Director & Refinery Head, IOCL Bongaigaon Refinery and Pro-Vice Chairman, School Board of Management and Madam Rasmita Barua, the first lady of the township along with some dignitaries of IOCL BGR graced the occasion with their presence. Students, teachers and parents were a part of the celebration. After the puja rituals, prasad and bhog were distributed to everyone present at the venue.

IN HONOUR OF OUR GLORIOUS REPUBLIC.
The red letter day began with hoisting of the National Flag, followed by National Anthem by the school choir. The platoons of boys , girls, scouts, guides, NCC showcased a brilliant parade marching in perfect symphony and carrying the message of pride of sovereignty. The Principal addressed the gathering , highlighting the values of the constitution, the role of student in nation building and how the school is preparing its students to be best citizens of tomorrow. In the prize distribution ceremony, student & teacher achievers were presented with mementos, in recognisition of their special achievements in various arenas viz, Miss Hiyasvi Kashyap(VI), Miss Koushani Choudhury(V), Mst. Madhurjya Choudhury(IX) & Miss Nabojita Sarma(XI)& Miss Chibika Owary(XII) for their feats in the fields of Swimming, Art & painting, Sports, Kumite & Bagurumba Dance.
*Best Turn Out (Girls) award went to Miss Prerona Barman
*Best Turn Out (Boys) award was bagged by Mst.Rupjyoti Kalita
*Best Turn Out (NCC) was received by Miss Nabojita Sarma
*Best Platoon- Girls Platoon
Teachers like Mr. Pulin Ch. Medhi(Mathematics), Mr. Dipankar Mazumdar(Science) & Mr. Swmkhar Basumatary( Bodo Lang.) were awarded for their contribution as Resource person, Sole Scouts trainer in Chirang Distrist & for receiving YUVA LEKHAK SANMAN with a cash prize of 25,000/- (Bodo Lit.) from Govt. of Assam.
And last but not the least, the programme ended with a captivating dance performance by students of classes III to IX on the theme of NAYA BHARAT- nayee soch, nayee udaan ,nayee pehchaan. The next phase of the programme took place in the BGR Sports Complex. The day ended with a patriotic fervour to invigorate the young minds to move forward with new zeal and determination. .

GRANDPARENTS’ MEET(Jan. 13,2026).
The school organized a Grandparents’ Meet on Jan.21,2026 with warmth and joy at the Rangmanch auditorium. The day unfolded with speeches by students of Bal Vatika-III in English, Hindi & Assamese. Then, there was a wonderful dance and card presentation by the toddlers, highlighting the bonding with grandparents. The grandparents took part in the fun games with their grand children. The Principal, Dr. R. K. Mishra spoke in honour of grandparents and their invaluable role in shaping the young minds. The event ended on a joyful note , leaving cherished memories for all present.
PLANTATION DRIVE.
As a part of IOCL Day celebration,2026, a tree plantation programme was arranged in the Territorial Army Battalion,135 INF BN(TA) ECO. TASK FORCE at its headquarters, Kokrajhar , Assam. Twenty One(21) students from our school from the ECO CLUB of the school along with mentors, Ms. N.Prasad & Mr. D.Mazumdar participated in the same on Jan. 20,2026 and enriched themselves with environmental stewardship, biodiversity conservation and practical ecological skills.
PARIKSHA PE CHARCHA QUIZ .
On Jan.23,2026, as many as twenty(20) students of the school from classes VI to IX & XI participated in the written quiz competition on the theme of ‘PARIKSHA PE CHARCHA’. The result of the said competition is awaiting. .
KARATE & KUMITE LAUREATES.
In the 1st Bongaigaon District Karate Championship, conducted by the Karate Association of Bongaigaon, affiliated to Unified Karate Association of Assam(UKAA) held on Jan.11,2026 at the Railway Institute, Old Colony, Bongaigaon, Miss Mugdha Bhattacharjee(VI) bagged a Gold medal in Kumite while Mst. Dipjyoti K. Mazumdar(II) achieved 2 Silver medals in Kumite and 1 bronze medal in Kata category. Many congratulations to both of them ! .
KUMITE CHAMPION.
Miss Nabojita Sarma (XI) is the proud recipient of Gold medal in Kumite in the Zonal Karate Championship 2025 organised by All Assam Karate Association from Dec. 26-28,2025 at Khanapara, Guwahati .

IN THE RHYTHM OF BAGARUMBA.
Miss Chibika Owary (XII) participated in BAGARUMBA DWHOU, wherein 10,000 Bagarumba dancers performed for a Guiness Record on Jan.17,2026 at Sarusajai stadium, Guwahati in the presence of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Kudos to her !
ONSITE SEMINAR ON MATHEMATICS.
A three day residential Mathematical workshop was conducted for 104 teachers at the HRD Centre,Noida by Delhi Public School Society from Jan.14-16,2026. Mr.B.Barman from the Dept. Of Mathematics attended the said workshop.
