AN INSIGHT INTO THE COURT OF LAW .
On Feb. 06,2026, the Humanities stream of class-XI visited the District Court of Chirang as a part of field trip. They had a glimpse of the Indian judicial system and how it caters to modern needs. They learnt about the Case Information System and Court Website and the very vital facility of e-filling through the e-Sewa Kendra that enables people submit documents digitally. Further, students were made aware of Lok Adalat to resolve disputes through mutual settlement. Additionally, they got insights into provisions such as free legal aid and victim compensation schemes that ensure accessibility of justice to the weaker sections of the society. Overall, the visit was informative and enriching for the students as well as the accompanying teacher, Ms.N.Prasad. Our whole hearted gratitude to Shri Chandranshu Chaturvedi, Hon’ble judge of the Dist. & Session Court,Chirang for his courtesy and kind gestures.
YOUTH CONCLAVE-5.O
EAST STORY organised Bongaigaon Youth Conclave 5.0 on 7th February,2026 at the Theme Park, Bongaigaon. Around 20 students of class-XI participated in the Conclave in the interactive session on ‘Public v/s Private , the educational divide and Gen Z & Us’. Ms. Gauri Bora(PGT, English) joined the event as a panelist in the first session. Various schools and colleges of Bongaigaon and Chirang participated in the thought provoking programme.
VISIT OF ESTEEMED PRO-VICE CHAIRMAN AT THE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY.
The morning sun of Feb. 09 indeed shone bright with the presence of Shri N.K.Barua, Executive Director & Refinery Head , IOCL Bongaigaon Refinery & esteemed Pro-Vice Chairman, the school Board of Management at the morning Assembly which was presented by the students of class-XI. Apart from the usual items, a melodious prayer song was presented by a group of students followed by the rendition of Vande Mataram. Sir Barua greeted the students whose birthday fell on the day and also congratulated the winners of Charitable Food Festival held at school. Thereafter, Sir inspired everyone with his words of wisdom. After the Assembly, Sir planted a sapling at the school premises in presence of the Principal, Headmaster, some teachers and the students of class-XI(Humanities). All in all, it was a meaningful day.
BLESSING CEREMONY –(X & XII) .
As is customary, on the eve of Board examinations of the Xth & XIIth graders, the school organised the Blessing Ceremony wherein the Principal blessed the examinees with his inspiring words to step ahead with confidence and courage and take on all the challenges of life with steadfastness and wished them success . Some teachers spoke on the occasion , building the confidence level of students. A few students from the outgoing batches of class-XII poured their hearts on the occasion. A group of students of class-XI presented a wonderful medley of songs on the event. As a whole, the programme wrapped off well.
UMANG-THE BAL VATIKA CULTURAL SHOW.
The school organised UMANG- The Val Vatika Show which shone with hues by the striking performances of the tiny tots of Bal Vatika. The event was graced by Shri N.K.Barua, Executive Director & Refinery Head, IOCL Bongaigaon Refinery & Pro-Vice Chairman , School Board of Management and Madam Rasmita Barua, the First Lady of the Township along with some dignitaries of IOCL Bongaigaon Refinery. After the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, the Principal, Dr. R.K.Mishra wished the toddlers all the very best for the event and also thanked the parents for their all time support in all endeavours of the school. Hon’able Pro-Vice Chairman also encouraged the little stars and wished them the very best for the event. The array of colourful cultural performances captivated the audience and everyone appreciated the efforts and enthusiasm of the children. As a mark of recognition of the talents of the performers, Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chairman gave away chocolates to all the performers at the end of the show. Kudos to the little champs !
CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME- LIFE SKILLS(BASIC).
The school organised a Capacity Buiding Programme on Life Skills(Basic), an initiative by the CBSE, CoE, Regional Office, Guwahati . The Resource person was Dr.Shivani Johri , Principal, Modern Public Academy, Rampur. It was a lively programme highlighting promotion of skill based and experiential learning that empowers students to become confident, creative and future ready leaders. The venue Director & Principal, Dr.R.K.Mishra spoke on the relevance of life skill training in today’s scenario. Overall, it was an insightful programme.
CENTRE OF BOARD EXAMINATIONS
The school is a centre of Board examinations of classes-X & XII conducted by the CBSE. It started On Feb,17 and is going on, all well , under the guidance of the Principal & Chief Nodal Supervisor.
RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMME FOR TEACHERS OF ENGLISH.
Ms.A.P.Googoi from the faculty of English attended a residential workshop from Feb.02-04 on teaching English for classes-VI-VIII. The programme was designed taking into account the directives of the NEP 2020. Expert led sessions covered enhancing lisening & dpeaking skills of students,integrating thatre inclassrooms, effective use of AI in teaching anf focusing on onclusive education.The event was organised by the DPS Society at its HRD Centre, Noida. Later, on Feb 11, Ms. Gogoi shared her learning experience with the faculty of English
TRAINING SESSIONS FOR TEACHERS .
A group of teachers attended a one day Capacity Building Programmefor teachers on Active Learning on Feb 28,2026 at Gurukul National School, Basugaon. Mr. Tarak Bhattacharjee,PGT-Commerce of our school was one of the Rresource persons in the programme.
Another handful of teachers attended a Capacity Building Programme on Art Integration at Chalantapara on Feb 28,2026. It was led by the Resource person, Ms.Ruma Dey(PGT-Biology) of our school.
PARIKSHA PE CHARCHA
On Feb 6 & 9,2026,the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi interacted with students parents and teachers on exam stress management, preparation and skill development. Live steaming was facilitated in the school for Board examinees through Digital Boards . It was also beneficial for students of classes-IX & XI.
